Aaron Pitman Bio

Senior Investigator Aaron Pitman has served with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office for over nine years and currently holds the position of Bravo Team Leader on the agency’s Special Response Team (SRT). With more than eight years of tactical experience, he oversees high-risk operations in both urban and rural environments.

Throughout his career, Aaron has participated in and led numerous operations, including search missions, fugitive apprehensions, barricaded suspect incidents, and complex rural deployments — both pre-planned and emergent callouts. He has served as an operator, team leader, and instructor across these missions, and plays an active role in the development and delivery of advanced training programs for his agency and regional partners.

Aaron holds instructor certifications in a wide range of tactical disciplines including Shield Operations, Low-Light Engagements, Hostage Rescue, and Less Lethal Systems, among other critical modalities. His operational strengths include small-unit movement in remote terrain, dynamic command and control, and detailed mission planning.

Before entering law enforcement, Aaron worked as a support specialist in their local schools, where he developed a passion for instruction and mentorship. That same dedication has continued throughout his law enforcement career — both on and off the Special Response Team — where he consistently leads peer instruction, scenario development, and skills refinement.

He remains actively engaged in advanced tactical training and is committed to enhancing interagency coordination across law enforcement disciplines. Aaron also serves as a Regional Representative for Region 1 of the Florida SWAT Association, representing agencies across the western Florida Panhandle for the past two years.

Outside of law enforcement, Aaron volunteers with organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers, and several internal agency committees. In his free time, he enjoys working out, hunting, fishing, farming, and spending time outdoors with his family.
