You must be an FSA member and show completion of a basic sniper course before signing up for this course.
Through classroom discussion and live fire exercises students will enhance their sniper/observer deployment capabilities, sniper specific tactics and sniper rifle shooting skills. This week is designed to further the education learned in a basic sniper course and provide students more advanced skills required to perform as a LE sniper/observer.
This course is designed to introduce SWAT operators to the utilization of ballistic shields. During the course operators will learn the pros and cons of the shield, tactical movement and manipulation, single, dual and team movements, shooting from behind the shield using handguns and rifles, single and partner reloads, search warrant service and rescues along with other topics. The course was introduced through FSA last year, was very well reviewed by all participants and is being taught by the same instructors who's team has been utilizing shields in virtually every operation for many many years.
