Florida SWAT Association Rappel Master Course is a 40 hour course focusing on the basics for training, safety, and equipment. The course includes 16 hours of pre-work sent to the student and 24 hours over three days of practical application. Gear capabilities and inspection, knots, anchor systems, decent and accent techniques, and rescue are all tested topics. At the completion of this course, students will be basically trained to safely conduct unit training and have the basics for a high angle operation. Students are encouraged to bring any and all gear they are issued and it is preferred to training in their operational gear (team seats, gloves, carabiners). The only gear requirement is a helmet (operational or bump helmet).
